Book Study: The Anxious Generation (Fall 2025) - Start Date

Course Description:
This book study for K-12 educators will explore The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, examining the growing mental health challenges facing today’s youth. Through reading and discussion, participants will delve into Haidt’s insights on the factors contributing to anxiety among students, including social media, parenting trends, and societal shifts. Educators will gain a deeper understanding of how these issues impact student well-being and learning. This book study aims to empower educators to better support their students' mental health and navigate the complexities of an anxious generation.

*NOTE:
 This is a self-paced, asynchronous course. Assignments and materials will be posted in a Google Classroom for this book study. Instructions for participants to join the Google Classroom will be provided upon registration. Participants are responsible for purchasing their own copy of the book in their preferred format; paperback/hardcover, e-book, or audiobook prior to the start date of the course.

Graduate Credit: 
Optional graduate credit available for additional $150.00 fee through Lindenwood University.
